The Village of Groton will revamp key sites across town thanks to $4.5 million in New York State funding, according to The Ithaca Voice. Twelve projects were chosen under the state’s NY Forward program to spark economic growth and restore historic, residential, and commercial spaces.
Plans include transforming the Groton Hotel into a boutique inn and restaurant, building a village green with a stage, expanding the Good Neighbor Grocery into a community hub, and redeveloping long-vacant properties into apartments. Infrastructure upgrades like trails, parking, and public gathering spots are also slated.
Projects will roll out over the next two years, blending historic preservation with new amenities to boost housing, tourism, and small business activity.
