Two Massena residents were injured Saturday morning when a driver failed to stop at an intersection in the town of Potter.
Yates County deputies say 82-year-old Irene Jamieson ran a stop sign at Italy Valley Road and struck another vehicle at the intersection with Friend Road. The crash happened around 9:11 a.m. on June 7.
Jamieson was driving eastbound when she collided with a car driven by 66-year-old Peter Stewart of Branchport, who was heading southbound. Stewart was not injured.
Jamieson suffered head and neck injuries and was flown to Strong Memorial Hospital by Mercy Flight. Her passenger, 49-year-old Kevin Duross, sustained injuries to his hand and back and was taken to FF Thompson Hospital by ambulance.
Emergency crews from the Middlesex Ambulance, Potter Fire Department, and Penn Yan Ambulance assisted at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
