Midlakes High School celebrated academic excellence and leadership as it welcomed 23 new juniors into the National Honor Society during its annual induction ceremony.

Held in the high school auditorium, the event recognized the 2025 inductees with a candle-lighting ceremony and highlighted their achievements in academics, service, leadership, and character.

Current NHS officers Hunter Casper, Hannah Minns, and Cecileigh Perri led the ceremony and introduced the new members. NHS President Jonah Spangenberg was unable to attend due to a sectional track meet.

The newest inductees are Kyle Bell, Haven Benz, Clara Bond, Aiden Bryant, Jonathan Capozzi, Connor Carter, Julie Chen, Marley Conrad, Makenzie Davis, Elizabeth Elling, Anthony Gleason, Lauren Godkin, Ayden Klapp, Jamie Lawson, Aeryn Maher, Brooklyn May, Stuart Quku, Lily Roth, Amelia Santy, Blake Starkweather, Maya Stevenson, Eden Trzeciak, and Braxton Wilkes.

Principal Dan McAlpin, Superintendent Nick Ganster, and Board of Education member Deb Galliher joined faculty advisors Kelly Hart and Erin Everson to welcome and congratulate the students.

To be eligible for induction, students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 88% or higher and demonstrate involvement in extracurricular activities, volunteer work, and leadership roles.

The Midlakes chapter also supports the community through service, including organizing the Midlakes Madness basketball game, fundraising for United Way, collecting food donations, and volunteering at school events.
