Visitors to Canandaigua’s Kershaw Park beach can swim for free this summer, according to city officials. The move aims to discourage unauthorized swimming in other parts of Canandaigua Lake by making the official beach more accessible.
Previously, non-residents paid between $2 and $5, while city residents could buy seasonal passes. Kershaw Park, located at the lake’s north end, features nine acres of amenities including a playground, walking paths, and a boat dock.
The beach opened over Memorial Day weekend and will remain open daily through Labor Day, weather permitting.
