A senior cat that miraculously survived a 400-foot fall into Bryce Canyon is now living with the pilot who helped rescue her. The cat, now named Mirage, was found inside a dirt-covered carrier after her owners tragically died in the fall.

Discovered by search and rescue pilot Chelsea Tugaw, Mirage was treated for broken ribs and fluid around her heart. She recovered fully at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, where staff named her in awe of her survival.

After receiving blessing from her late owners’ family, Tugaw adopted Mirage, promising her a peaceful retirement filled with love and comfort.
