Northeast College of Health Sciences has announced a new graduate program aimed at preparing students for one of the fastest-growing careers in healthcare. The college is now accepting applications for its Master of Science in physician assistant studies, with the first class set to begin in January 2026.

The move comes as demand for physician assistants continues to surge. Ranked the No. 3 best job in the U.S. for 2025 by U.S. News & World Report, the profession is projected to grow 28% from 2023 to 2033, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Northeast’s hybrid M.S. in PA program will span six trimesters over 24 months, offering a combination of online learning and in-person clinical training. Students will begin their studies on the college’s 286-acre health sciences campus, where they’ll train in high-tech anatomy labs and simulated practice rooms designed to mimic real medical environments.
In the second and third trimesters, students will shift to online coursework before entering a full year of supervised clinical rotations across New York and beyond.
“In recent years, Northeast has expanded its educational offerings to establish a broader patient-centric foothold in clinical medicine,” said Program Director Dr. Scott Richards. “Given the tremendous support at Northeast and the College’s deep investment in the well-being and success of our students, I am excited to deliver this innovative PA program model.”

The new program is the latest addition to Northeast’s portfolio of health sciences degrees. It is currently under review by the New York State Education Department and the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant.
Applications for the inaugural M.S. in PA class are open now.
