Two New York State Police troopers were stabbed during a violent traffic stop in Allegany County on May 17, according to authorities. The incident unfolded at a gas station in Bolivar after officers stopped a stolen vehicle.
Police say a female suspect resisted arrest, stabbing one trooper above the eye and another in the head. One officer fired a shot, but the suspect was not hit. One trooper was hospitalized in serious condition with an eye injury.
The suspect sustained minor injuries and was taken into custody. Charges are pending as the investigation continues. Officials confirmed there is no ongoing threat to the public.
