Waterloo Town Board member Bob Lotz declined a misdemeanor plea deal Monday, opting instead to face a grand jury on a felony burglary charge, according to The Finger Lakes Times.
Lotz is accused of entering the town Highway Department with Town Supervisor Don Trout and damaging property.
Trout previously rejected a separate plea offer related to criminal mischief. Prosecutors also offered to drop a felony charge against Trout’s girlfriend if both men accepted the deals.
Lotz refused to testify against Trout, prompting the case to proceed to grand jury. Both men remain free without bail.
