Five community projects in the Finger Lakes are now in line for major federal support after Rep. Claudia Tenney submitted them to the House Appropriations Committee for the 2026 Community Project Funding process, according to the Finger Lakes Times.
The projects include $5 million to revitalize Canal Street in Lyons, $3.3 million for sewer upgrades in Phelps, $2.475 million for water improvements in Torrey, $3 million for Waterloo’s wastewater system, and $4 million to renovate Wayne County’s Health Services Building. Local leaders praised Tenney’s efforts to prioritize infrastructure and public health.
Officials say the proposed investments would boost growth, expand services, and modernize aging systems across the region. If approved, the funding could deliver long-term impact in some of the area’s most underserved communities.
