A Seneca Falls man was arrested Wednesday evening after a domestic dispute resulted in physical violence.
Jose Torres, 64, was taken into custody by the Town of Seneca Falls Police Department at 6:08 p.m. on May 7. He faces a charge of harassment in the second degree.
According to police, the arrest stems from an incident earlier that afternoon involving a female victim. Investigators say Torres engaged in unwanted physical contact during the dispute, open hand slapping the woman across the face. The strike caused pain and visible discoloration, authorities reported.
Following the arrest, Torres was transported to the Seneca County Correctional Facility. He will await arraignment in the Seneca County Centralized Arraignment Part Court. Police also confirmed that an order of protection was requested on behalf of the victim.
