Cayuga County Legislator Stephanie DeVito has resigned less than two years into her term after accepting a job opportunity outside her district, according to The Citizen.
DeVito, elected in 2023, cited her gratitude for serving the community and announced plans to relocate.
DeVito had previously stepped back from committee duties and left the Democratic caucus, attending only full Legislature meetings.
Her resignation leaves the Legislature with 10 members and a vacancy that could be filled by appointment.
