Waterloo Man Arrested for Allegedly Violating Order of Protection in Walworth

A Waterloo man was arrested earlier this week after deputies say he violated a court-issued order of protection in a domestic incident under investigation in the Town of Walworth.

Deputies from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested 39-year-old John F. Meyer of East William Street, Waterloo, on April 15. He is charged with Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree.

According to investigators, Meyer allegedly contacted his ex-girlfriend by email, despite having been previously served with a stay-away order of protection. The reported violation prompted deputies Dep. Kugler and Dep. Dunlap to take Meyer into custody.

He was transported to the Wayne County Jail and arraigned through the centralized system later that evening at 7 p.m.
