Several of America’s richest individuals on Forbes’ 2025 Billionaires List have strong ties to New York, contributing to a global net worth surge to $16.1 trillion, according to USA TODAY. Of the top 100 U.S. billionaires, many were born, educated, or reside in the Empire State.
Among them: Mark Zuckerberg, born in White Plains; Larry Ellison, born in the Bronx; and Michael Bloomberg, a longtime New York City resident. Other notables include Warren Buffett and Rob Walton, both Columbia alumni, and hedge fund magnate Steve Cohen.
Beyond the top 100, upstate billionaires like Terry Pegula and Tom Golisano also made the list. In total, the U.S. boasts 902 billionaires—more than any other nation.
