Cornell women’s lacrosse edges Harvard

Ellie Bergin delivered in the clutch for Cornell women’s lacrosse, scoring the game-winner with under 40 seconds remaining to lift the Big Red past No. 21 Harvard, 13-12, on Saturday afternoon at Schoellkopf Field. Junior goalkeeper Mackenzie Clark sealed the emotional Senior Day victory with a save at the buzzer, helping Cornell improve to 9-4 overall and 3-2 in Ivy League play.

Senior Kylie Gelabert tied a program record with six assists and totaled seven points in a standout performance. Fellow seniors Maggie Pons (four goals), Josie Vogel (three goals), and Caitlin Slaminko (goal, seven draw controls) all contributed significantly, each continuing to build on career point totals surpassing 100. Ella Wilmot added a five-point day with a goal and four assists, while Bergin’s lone goal proved to be the difference.


Clark made eight saves, all in the final three quarters, to earn the win in net.

Harvard’s Caroline Mullahy led the Crimson with two goals and five assists. Despite a late push, the Crimson fell to 7-5 (2-3 Ivy).
