Seneca Falls woman charged with attempted assault after punching officer

A woman was arrested Saturday after punching a police officer during an altercation at a group-home residence in Seneca Falls.

Police say Riccy Rosa-Najera, 25, of Seneca Falls, became upset and struck the officer in the face while he was handling a separate incident involving her.

The officer was not injured and was able to take Rosa-Najera into custody without further incident. She also did not suffer any injuries.

Rosa-Najera was charged with one count of attempted assault in the second degree, a class E felony. She was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Seneca Falls Court at a later date.
