Steuben County Habitat for Humanity has dedicated its 40th home to a new family in Corning, following renovations to a previously owned property on Ontario Street.
Volunteers helped upgrade the home with a new roof, heating system, driveway, and appliances, transforming it into a safe and modern space. The two-person family selected for the home now has a stable, permanent residence they can call their own.
Habitat’s Joy Overacker says the project offers more than shelter—it provides lasting independence. Additional renovation efforts are planned for Bath and East Corning later this year.
