Newfield limits playground access, seeks school board candidates

Newfield Central School District announced updates to playground access, with Superintendent Eric Hartz stating the wooden playground near the school entrance will open to the public only after elementary buses depart at 2:20 p.m. All other areas remain restricted during school hours for student safety.

Middle and high school areas stay in use until 3:25 p.m. due to ongoing classes and after-school programs. Hartz emphasized no public access is allowed during the school day from 7:40 a.m. to 2:20 p.m.

Meanwhile, the district is seeking candidates for its May 20 board election. Three seats are available; petitions are due by April 21.
