Steuben County bridges to close for repairs

Two bridges in Steuben County will temporarily close for repairs starting Monday, March 31, according to the county’s Department of Public Works. The closures aim to improve safety and reliability for local travelers.

The bridge on Bean Station Road in Prattsburgh, spanning Five Mile Creek, will be closed for about 14 weeks. A detour will route drivers via State Route 53, Waldo Road, County Route 77, and Muck Road. Meanwhile, the Rathbone bridge over North Branch of Tuscarora Creek will be closed for about seven weeks, with a detour using Derby Hill Road.

Drivers are advised to follow detour signs and anticipate potential delays during construction.
