A report of an intoxicated driver leaving the scene of a domestic incident led to a series of charges against a Prattsburgh man early Monday in Yates County.
Patrick Lewis, 28, was arrested shortly after 2 a.m. on Stever Hill Road in Branchport after deputies located his vehicle and observed signs of impairment, according to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said Steuben County 911 notified deputies that Lewis had reportedly left a domestic incident while intoxicated. After locating him, deputies conducted standardized field sobriety tests and subsequently charged him with driving while intoxicated, driving while ability impaired by the combined influence of drugs or alcohol, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, failure to notify the DMV of a change of address, and consumption or possession of alcoholic beverages in a motor vehicle.
Investigators also determined that Lewis was operating with a suspended New York driver’s license. After his arrest, he was transported to the Yates County Jail, where officials said he refused to submit to a chemical test.
Lewis was turned over to correctional staff and held pending centralized arraignment proceedings.
