Newark man charged with DWI after driving off road in Arcadia

A Newark man was arrested early Tuesday morning after he allegedly drove off the road in the Town of Arcadia while intoxicated, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the scene at 1:29 a.m. after receiving a report of a vehicle that had left the roadway. Upon arrival, authorities found that 20-year-old Conner W. Collins of Bryant Avenue had attempted to turn around after missing his turn but became stuck off the road.

During the investigation, deputies determined Collins was operating the vehicle while intoxicated. A chemical test later revealed his blood alcohol content to be .20%, more than twice the legal limit.

Collins was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, driving with a BAC of .18% or greater, and moving from a lane unsafely. He was processed and released on appearance tickets. Collins is scheduled to appear in Arcadia Town Court on March 26 at 3 p.m.
