Geneva launches ‘Community Conversations’ on local government

Geneva City Manager Amie Hendrix is kicking off a new initiative, Geneva Community Conversations, to help residents learn more about their local government. The first session, featuring Fire Chief Del Parrotta, will take place March 12 at the Finger Lakes Welcome Center.

The monthly series aims to foster open discussions between residents, city officials, and department heads in a relaxed setting. Hendrix hopes these conversations will increase transparency, encourage engagement, and provide a new way for citizens to ask questions and share ideas.

Each session will highlight a different city department, and key takeaways will be shared through a “frequently asked questions” sheet afterward. Hendrix envisions the series as an ongoing effort to strengthen community connections and government accessibility.
