Glove House moves annual BBQ to new location for greater accessibility

Glove House, Inc. is making a change to its long-standing tradition, relocating its 21st Annual BBQ in the Park to Thorne Street Park in Horseheads and shifting the event to a Saturday for increased accessibility. This year’s barbecue will take place on May 31, with lunch served from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and dinner from 4 to 6:30 p.m.

The event remains a vital fundraiser for Glove House, with all proceeds directly benefiting the children and families it serves. Food will once again be provided by Dean-Lane Food & Farmstead, offering attendees a familiar and delicious menu. Meal prices will stay at last year’s rates—$13 for lunch and $17 for dinner—with advance tickets available at glovehouse.org.

“For two decades, Glove House has proudly hosted an annual BBQ, creating a cherished tradition that goes beyond mere fundraising,” said Dr. Keith McGriff, President & CEO of Glove House. “This year, we have chosen to move both location and day of the week to make this family-focused event easier to attend for families across the area and beyond.”

Alongside great food, attendees can enjoy a lineup of free family-friendly activities. Bobby K Entertainment will provide carnival games and inflatables, Bunch of Bubbles will offer large-scale bubble-making fun, and Haley’s Creation Station will be on-site for face painting.

Glove House is also welcoming sponsors, raffle donations, and auction items to support the event. Those interested can contact Jenn Thomas-Murphy for more details.

With a new location and expanded accessibility, the 21st Annual BBQ in the Park promises to be a can’t-miss event for the community.
