Throop woman arrested for aggravated DWI in Fleming

A Throop woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated after a traffic stop in the early morning hours of February 24, according to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Brian Schenck reported that deputies arrested 25-year-old Luisanny Duval Ogando at 1:37 a.m. She was charged with DWI (first offense) and aggravated DWI: per se – no prior, along with additional vehicle and traffic law violations.


The arrest occurred after a deputy on patrol observed a vehicle traveling northbound on South Street Road in the Town of Fleming at 1:17 a.m. The deputy noticed the vehicle failing to maintain its lane and initiated a traffic stop. Upon investigation, Ogando was placed into custody for DWI.

She was transported to the Sheriff’s Office, where she provided a breath sample showing a blood alcohol content of .18%, more than twice the legal limit. Due to the elevated BAC level, Ogando was charged with aggravated DWI.

Ogando was issued tickets and is scheduled to appear in Fleming Town Court on March 11 at 5 p.m.
