TWG Global launches TWG Motorsports, uniting top racing teams under one umbrella

TWG Global has officially launched TWG Motorsports, a new division designed to unite some of the world’s most prominent motorsports organizations. The initiative aims to drive competitive excellence, foster ingenuity, and spark commercial innovation across the global racing landscape.

Established in late 2024 by TWG Global co-chairs Mark Walter and Thomas Tull, TWG Motorsports seeks to redefine racing standards by utilizing next-generation technologies and leveraging operational synergies. The new division builds on TWG Global’s impressive sports portfolio, which includes ownership stakes in the Los Angeles Dodgers, Chelsea Football Club, the Professional Women’s Hockey League, and the Los Angeles Lakers.

Dan Towriss, a longtime partner of Mark Walter and CEO of Group 1001 Insurance, will lead TWG Motorsports as CEO. Towriss played a pivotal role in forming the landmark Cadillac Formula 1 team in partnership with General Motors and spearheading TWG Global’s acquisition of a diverse motorsports portfolio.

“With a combination of operational excellence, technology, and innovation, TWG Motorsports has the opportunity to drive true transformation in racing, set new standards for the industry, and build a legacy of success across the globe,” Towriss said.

The newly formed division launches with an impressive lineup of motorsports organizations, including:

  • Cadillac Formula 1: Partnering with General Motors, TWG Motorsports will bring the Cadillac Formula 1 team to the grid in 2026.
  • Andretti Global: Competing in the INDYCAR Series, Indy NXT, and Formula E.
  • Spire Motorsports: A race-winning NASCAR team with entries in the NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Truck Series.
  • Wayne Taylor Racing: A two-car GTP program in the top classes of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship series.
  • Walkinshaw Andretti United: The Bathurst 1000-winning race team competing in Australia’s Supercars Championship.

By uniting these organizations under one umbrella, TWG Motorsports aims to reshape the racing industry through operational excellence, advanced technologies, and cross-industry collaboration. The division plans to consolidate efforts across multiple categories and share infrastructure worldwide, positioning itself as a leader in global motorsports innovation.
