Seneca County Board of Supervisors Chair Mike Enslow has asked the Human Resources and Government Operations Committee to rescind a proposal granting him a $2,500 biweekly stipend for taking on county manager duties. Instead, he suggests using the funds to hire a consulting firm to improve county operations.
Enslow, who has served in the role since the county manager’s departure last September, believes outside expertise is needed to address systemic challenges, according to The Finger Lakes Times. He emphasized the importance of strengthening county operations before hiring a new manager.
The stipend proposal was initially tabled for further review, with discussions set to begin Feb. 25. Enslow reaffirmed his commitment to serving without additional compensation.
