Firefighters from multiple departments responded to a commercial structure fire in the village of Palmyra early Wednesday, bringing the situation under control within an hour.
At approximately 8:20 a.m., the East Palmyra Fire Department and Palmyra Fire Department were dispatched to the scene. They were assisted by automatic mutual aid departments, including the Marion Fire Department and South Macedon Fire and Rescue. Upon arrival, a chief confirmed that smoke was visible from the structure.
Fire crews worked quickly to contain the blaze, successfully bringing it under control by 9:20 a.m. No details regarding potential damage or injuries have been released.
Additional support was provided by the Newark Fire Department, which covered the village and town of Palmyra, as well as Finger Lakes Ambulance, which was on standby for emergency medical services.
Authorities have not yet disclosed the cause of the fire, and an investigation may be underway.
