Livingston County announces eighth annual Community Clean Up event

Livingston County is gearing up for its eighth annual Community Clean Up event, scheduled to take place from April 12-20. The initiative encourages residents, local organizations, and community groups to celebrate Earth Day by volunteering to clean up public spaces throughout the county.

County officials are calling on residents to unite in an effort to enhance environmental health and prepare for Memorial Day festivities. Participants can either organize their own cleanup efforts or join pre-scheduled events listed on the county’s website. Project areas include parks, cemeteries, roadsides, historic sites, community gardens, schools, and town halls.

Livingston County Board Chair David LeFeber praised the event as a way for the community to come together while making a tangible impact. “The annual Community Clean Up is a wonderful spring event that encourages the people of Livingston County to come together, get outside, and make a positive impact on the environmental health and beauty of their parks and communities,” he said.

Alexander W. Pierce, chairman of the Livingston County Environmental Management Council, highlighted the event’s significance in fostering connections between communities and their surrounding landscapes. County Administrator David Pribulka added that he hopes all residents will consider volunteering. “This is your chance to welcome springtime by helping to beautify our public spaces,” he said.
