A Seneca Falls man was arrested following a violent domestic incident that unfolded in the early hours of February 15.
The Town of Seneca Falls Police Department took Joseph A. Davis, 56, into custody after he allegedly arrived intoxicated and unannounced at the victim’s residence. Despite multiple warnings to leave, Davis refused and became physically aggressive. Authorities say he placed both hands around the victim’s neck and strangled her, struck her in the face with a closed fist, and bit her fingers.
Davis now faces multiple charges, including reckless endangerment in the first degree, a class D felony, as well as criminal obstruction of breathing, an A misdemeanor, and harassment in the first degree, a B misdemeanor. Due to a prior qualifying offense within the past five years, he was also charged with aggravated family offense, an E felony.
Following his arrest, Davis was transported to the Seneca County Correctional Facility, where he awaits arraignment.
