An Arcadia man was arrested after allegedly providing a false identity to law enforcement following a minor motor vehicle accident, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Deputies took Michael W. Wilson, 52, of Pulver Road, into custody on charges of criminal impersonation in the second degree and obstructing governmental administration in the second degree.
Authorities say Wilson was involved in a minor crash earlier in the day. During the initial investigation, he allegedly identified himself as “William Wilson” to responding deputies. The matter was resolved at the scene, and the vehicle involved was towed.
Later, after a family member discovered the cost of the tow bill, an argument erupted, prompting another response from deputies. The same officer who had handled the accident earlier in the day responded to the residence and uncovered Wilson’s true identity.
Wilson was subsequently arrested and transported to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office for processing. He was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in court on March 19 at 3 p.m.
