The Village of Victor Board of Trustees will host two public hearings on February 17 at 7:00 p.m. at Village Hall, located at 60 East Main Street. Both hearings will focus on key issues that could affect local taxes and services.
The first hearing will explore whether the Village should enact a local law to override the state-imposed tax levy cap under General Municipal Law §3-c. If approved, this measure would give the Village greater flexibility in setting the tax rate for the 2025-2026 fiscal year. Residents are expected to voice concerns over balancing fiscal responsibility with funding for local services.
The second hearing will address a proposed cable television franchise agreement between the Village and Spectrum Northeast, LLC, a subsidiary of Charter Communications. The agreement, if granted, would govern the terms and conditions of Spectrum’s cable services within the Village. Residents may raise questions about service quality, rates, and local infrastructure commitments.
Copies of the proposed documents are available for public review at the Village Clerk’s office during normal business hours.
The Village Board of Trustees encourages community members to attend and participate in these discussions, which could have a lasting impact on local governance and utilities.
