Wayne County woman faces charges after allegedly providing false ID during traffic stop

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office has charged a 32-year-old woman from Newark following an incident during a traffic stop in the Town of Lyons.

Deputies arrested Angelica Alicea of Stansell Street on Thursday after she allegedly provided a false name to officers during the stop. Authorities stated that Alicea was warned that giving false identification was a crime but continued to mislead deputies.

Further investigation confirmed Alicea’s true identity and revealed that she had an outstanding Family Court warrant.

Alicea has been charged with second-degree criminal impersonation and obstructing governmental administration. She was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to be arraigned on March 4 at 8:30 a.m. in Lyons Town Court.
