Waterloo man faces felony DWI charges after driving intoxicated with children to store

Seneca Falls police arrested a 44-year-old Waterloo resident following an investigation at a local business.

Jason R. Donahue was taken into custody after authorities were alerted that he appeared intoxicated, while shopping with two children.

An investigation revealed that Donahue had driven to the business with the two children, both under the age of 17, while under the influence of alcohol. As a result, he was charged with two felony counts of aggravated driving while intoxicated with children in the vehicle under New York’s Leandra’s Law. He also faces two class A misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Donahue was processed and transported to the Seneca County Correctional Facility, where he awaits arraignment. Authorities confirmed that the children were unharmed during the incident. An order of protection has been requested for their safety.

The case underscores the ongoing concern over impaired driving, particularly when children are placed at risk.
