The DEC has reviewed Seneca Meadows Inc.’s draft Environmental Impact Statement for a landfill expansion, issuing 250 comments.
About 80% involved grammar, clarity, and rewording, while others called for technical updates, such as data on methane emissions, PFAS treatment, and compliance with climate and environmental justice laws.
The DEC also requested enhanced details on air quality, odor control, and pollution impacts on disadvantaged communities.
Seneca Meadows must revise and resubmit the DEIS before public hearings and further review can proceed.
