The New York Yankees brought back left-handed reliever Tim Hill on a one-year, $2.85 million contract, with a $3 million club option for 2026, ESPN’s Jeff Passan reported Tuesday afternoon.
Hill, 34, was a key piece of New York’s bullpen in 2024, joining midseason after being released by the Chicago White Sox. He quickly became a reliable arm, posting a stellar 2.05 ERA over 44 innings in 35 appearances. He was even more dominant in the postseason, allowing just one earned run in 8.1 innings (1.08 ERA) and delivering three scoreless outings in the World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The veteran lefty also produced a 68% ground-ball rate, leading all pitchers with at least 200 batted balls in 2024.
Across seven big league seasons, Hill owns a 3.99 ERA with 239 strikeouts in 322.1 innings.
