Auburn vape shop owner charged under NY shipping law

An Auburn vape shop owner is facing serious charges after allegedly shipping products through the mail.

According to new reporting today by The Citizen, Richard Dechick, owner of Vape Kult in Auburn, has been arrested for allegedly shipping vape products through the mail, violating a 2020 New York law.

He faces two misdemeanor counts of unlawful shipment of vapor products, according to the State Department of Health. His business has also been charged.

If convicted, Dechick could face jail time or fines, with repeat offenses upgraded to a felony. His next court appearance is scheduled for Niskayuna Town Court on Feb. 12.
