Police say an Auburn man was taken into custody on multiple charges after a high-speed chase this week.

Matthew J. Carr, 39, of Rouses Point, was arrested by Auburn police for felony DWI following a high-speed chase early Thursday morning. Officers spotted his car driving on North Street without headlights or taillights around 2:45 a.m.

When police attempted a traffic stop, Carr fled, eventually losing control near Eastern Parkway and Ross Street Extension. He was arrested and found to be intoxicated with a revoked license.

Carr faces multiple charges, including felony DWI, operating without an interlock device, and several traffic violations. He was processed and released with a court appearance ticket.
