The Auburn Planning Board will meet Tuesday to review significant development projects, including a proposed housing complex at 197 State Street and a minor subdivision application for a vacant lot on Dunning Avenue. The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers at Memorial City Hall.
The board will conduct a public hearing on a special use permit and site plan review for the redevelopment of 197 State Street. Housing Visions Consultants, Inc. plans to demolish the current structure to construct a four-story, 26,492-square-foot building. The new facility will feature 26 one-bedroom apartments, parking for 20 vehicles, and improved landscaping and lighting.
A second hearing will address the subdivision of a lot at 142 Dunning Avenue. The proposal involves creating a 28,571-square-foot residential lot at the corner of Leavenworth Avenue and St. Anthony Street. The application, submitted by Contiguglia Law Offices, aims to prepare the site for future development.
Both projects have attracted attention for their potential impact on the community, particularly regarding parking, stormwater management, and infrastructure upgrades. Public comments will be accepted during the hearings.
