Wayne County begins search for new administrator

Wayne County is seeking a successor to Administrator Rick House, who will retire at the end of March. Applications for the position, which oversees 28 departments and a $228 million budget, are open until February 19. The role offers a salary between $144,013 and $194,419 based on experience.

Human Resources Director Chris Kalinski, also retiring in March, confirmed the job posting but noted no interview committee has been formed yet. Typically, such committees include supervisors, the county administrator, and the HR director.

House, who served as administrator for nearly a decade, cited family reasons for stepping down. Board Chair Kim Leonard has tasked officials with advertising the vacancy widely.
