A former Steuben County Assistant District Attorney has been sentenced to prison for possessing child sex abuse materials.

James Miller, 66, was sentenced on January 24 to 20 months in prison after pleading guilty to having over 100 images of child pornography involving prepubescent minors.

Miller was charged in 2021 after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children flagged his email account for uploading suspected child pornography.

A search of his home uncovered numerous digital devices containing illicit materials. Miller agreed to plead guilty to the charges in April 2024.
