TUESDAY HS BASKETBALL REPORT: Wayne boys pull away late to beat Mynderse; Honeoye boys win 10th straight

On Tuesday night, 13 games high school basketball games unfolded across the Finger Lakes region, but many were lopsided.

Highlights included a Finger Lakes East matchup in Ontario, where Wayne pulled away late to beat Mynderse to complete the season sweep, and the Honeoye boys picked up a 10th straight victory with a non-league win at home over Avoca-Prattsburgh. Meanwhile, the Waterloo girls lost for just the third time this season.

BOYS BASKETBALL (1/21)

The Blue Devils started strong, leading 12-9 after the first quarter, but the Eagles responded to edge ahead 24-22 at halftime. Wayne came out firing in the third quarter, extending their lead to 12 points. Mynderse fought back in the final period, narrowing the gap to five with three minutes to play. However, the Eagles closed the game with an 8-1 run to secure the victory. The win marked a solid rebound for Wayne following their first loss to Waterloo last Friday, while Mynderse suffered their fourth loss in five games.
