A chairlift malfunction at the Astún ski resort in the Spanish Pyrenees injured over 30 people, including two seriously.
The accident occurred when a pulley failure caused chairs to fall and left approximately 50 people stranded 50 feet in the air.
Emergency crews, including helicopters and ambulances, quickly rescued the trapped and transported the injured to nearby hospitals.
Spain’s Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez offered support, and local officials are overseeing recovery efforts. A hotline has been set up for affected families.
