Steuben County declared a state of emergency Monday night as flash flooding made numerous roads impassable. A non-essential travel advisory was issued after storms dropped 2–3 inches of rain, flooding parts of West Cameron, Bath, and other central areas.
Towns under the emergency order include Canisteo, Cameron, Bath, Urbana, Pulteney, and Wayne. First responders continue assessing damage and managing emergency calls as rain persists. Residents are asked to stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary.
Flash flood warnings remain in effect through the evening, with a broader flood watch continuing into the next morning for several counties across the Southern Tier and Central New York.
