119th Congress sees younger lawmakers, generational shift

The 119th U.S. Congress is slightly younger overall, with fewer Baby Boomers and a rise in Gen X representatives, according to Pew Research Center. The median House member is 57.5 years old, while the Senate median dropped to 64.7 years after losing some older members.

The House saw 61 new representatives, whose median age is 50.2, lower than incumbents. Among them, 30 are in their 30s and 40s.

Generation X now dominates the House, while Boomers retain control of the Senate. Generational changes also highlight growing diversity and a decline in veteran lawmakers.
