Senator Pam Helming has been re-appointed as Chair of the Senate Republican Conference, a key leadership position that will shape the Conference’s priorities for the 2025 legislative session. Senate Republican Leader Rob Ortt made the announcement, emphasizing the role’s importance in advancing the party’s goals for New York.
“First and most importantly, thank you for your steadfast support as we enter the new legislative session,” Ortt said. “I look forward to continuing our work together as a conference to make New York a more affordable, safer, and healthier state for hardworking families.”
Helming, who represents the 54th District, expressed gratitude for the re-appointment and reaffirmed her commitment to addressing issues critical to constituents. “I am deeply honored to be appointed Chair of the Senate Republican Conference,” she said. “I am committed to working diligently to enhance the quality of life for our constituents by alleviating the financial burdens faced by families and businesses while addressing critical issues of crime and public safety.”
In addition to her leadership duties, Helming will take on roles as Ranking Member on two influential Senate committees: Housing, Construction and Community Development, and Insurance. Her involvement extends to several other significant committees, including Agriculture, Finance, Rules, and the Legislative Commission on Rural Resources.
Helming’s leadership is expected to play a pivotal role in shaping the legislative agenda, particularly on issues such as affordability, public safety, and rural development.
