  • Staff Report

Five Democratic legislators from Tompkins County announced they will not seek re-election, paving the way for significant changes in the county legislature by 2026.

According to The Ithaca Voice, Amanda Champion, Deborah Dawson, Dan Klein, Anne Koreman, and Susan Currie cited gratitude for their time in office and optimism about the future leadership.

Their departure coincides with the legislature’s expansion from 14 to 16 seats and new district lines based on the 2020 Census.
