Canandaigua supervisor chosen to lead Ontario County Board of Supervisors in 2025

Canandaigua Town Supervisor Jared Simpson has been sworn in as chairman of the Ontario County Board of Supervisors.

He succeeds Todd Campbell, with a focus on preparing for the county landfill’s closure in 2028. Simpson emphasizes deliberate planning for waste management changes and fostering stronger collaboration among towns to improve services and reduce costs.


Simpson, praised for his leadership and committee work, brings experience from roles in public works and health services. He has appointed Hopewell Supervisor Bill Namestnik as vice chairman, valuing his analytical approach.
