Ithaca Coffee Company is closing its Triphammer Marketplace location this winter but will continue operations at its Hancock Street roastery. Owner Julie Crowley plans to open a new café with an espresso bar, indoor and outdoor seating, and an expanded food menu.
The closure marks the end of a two-decade run at Triphammer, where the café became known for its coffee, gourmet foods, and craft beer offerings. The tavern, The Roost, will host a farewell celebration in mid-January before shutting down.
The new Hancock Street location will serve as both a roastery and café, conveniently located near Route 13 and local neighborhoods. Triphammer Wines & Spirits will remain at its current location, while the former coffee shop space becomes available for a new tenant.
