Ohio family murders: Mother and son sentenced for roles in killings

Edward “Jake” Wagner and his mother, Angela Wagner, received lengthy prison sentences for their roles in the 2016 killings of eight members of the Rhoden family in Pike County, Ohio.

Jake Wagner was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 32 years, reduced due to his cooperation with authorities. Angela Wagner received 30 years for helping plan the murders. Both expressed remorse during emotional court proceedings.

The killings stemmed from a custody dispute, and the case remains one of Ohio’s most extensive investigations. The final defendant, George “Billy” Wagner III, awaits trial.
