Auburn, Ithaca, and Syracuse have earned spots on SMU DataArts’ 2024 list of the most arts-vibrant communities in the U.S., which evaluates arts supply, demand, and government support nationwide.
Ithaca ranked second and Syracuse tenth among medium-sized communities (100,000–1 million population). Auburn secured tenth place in the small communities category (under 100,000 population). Rochester also earned recognition, ranking 15th among large communities (over 1 million population).
