The Geneva City Democratic Committee is searching for candidates for mayor, city council seats in Wards 2, 4, and 6, an at-large seat, three county supervisor roles, and a city judge position. Endorsement interviews will begin in early-2025.
Mayor Steve Valentino, who won on the Republican line in 2023 despite being a Democrat, spoke with the Finger Lakes Times about his future. Valentino says he’s considering another run but doesn’t expect party endorsement. Councilor Chris Lavin is rumored to be eyeing the mayoral seat, though he hasn’t confirmed his intentions.
The committee is surveying city Democrats to identify key election issues and encourages interested candidates to reach out via email.
